Is Michael Levin someone we may want to contact for finding more about groups in Florida?
http://www.atlantausergroups.com/profile/MichaelLevin

I know we are sort of in several phases to start with (initial planning group, planning group, finding all the people), I'm throwing him out there just as someone with Florida connections, although I only know him through an email or two on Atlanta User Groups.

tried to contact the people who hold the Florida Linux Show to pass the word that way since I do not have contacts with the LUG's directly.

The links in the second paragraph are developer groups. You may wish to look at PASS (SQL Server) and Culminis (IT Pros) for other groups that Microsoft supports. There's a lot of them around.

Just wanted to add a copule of links:

For SQL Server groups supported by Microsoft, we have PASS, The Professional Association for SQL Server (PASS). They list the chapters in the South (which goes from Arizona through North Carolina) at http://www.sqlpass.org/Default.aspx?TabId=203 The other is Culminis, which supports Windows IT Professional groups (sys admins, Desktop Support, Sys engineers, etc). They're address is http://itpro.community.officelive.com/UserGroups.aspx It's not divided by region, howevwer.

Don't forget The Assn of Personal Computer User Groups - APCUG - http://www.apcug.net which has many member groups within range for this event. My group (Melbourne PC User Group - Australia) is a member. I also maintain a list of user groups at http://www.uglist.org/ - please add your group to it. It replaces http://easyrsvp.com/ugotw/.
